Georgette Tannoury, NGO Regional Designate to the Economic and   Social Commission for Western Asia (UN ESCWA) in Beirut shares with us key messages endorsed by Muslim and Christian Religious leaders in Lebanon on the occasion of the “International 16 Days Campaign of Activism to End Violence Against Women (VAW) and Girls” See  Press_Release-Eng  This initiative is led by the ‘Resource Center for Gender Equality” ABAAD  and is supported by a number of NGO’s including Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) with whom we collaborate in New York.

“Thus, this campaign comes to build on ABAAD existing multi-dimensional strategy of using positive psychology in addressing men and religious leaders in Lebanon to end VAW. In other words, it continues ABAAD’s use of positive psychology to inspire change and raise the awareness of the public. This will lead to true social justice and respect for human rights”
